Digital tube introduction
LED digital tube: LED Segment Displays, is a widely used semiconductor light-emitting device, its basic unit is the light-emitting diode.
Digital tube is also called LED digital tube. Digital tube can be divided into seven-segment digital tube and eight-segment digital tube according to the number of segments. The eight-segment digital tube has one more light-emitting diode unit than the seven-segment digital tube, that is, one more decimal point (DP). This decimal point can more accurately represent the content that the digital tube wants to display; according to the number of (8) that can be displayed, it can be divided into 1-bit, 2-bit, 3-bit, 4-bit, 5-bit, 6-bit, 7-bit and other digital tubes.
Digital tube type
Multiple field light-emitting diodes are packaged together according to a certain pattern and arrangement. The leads between the tubes have been integrated inside the chip, and their individual strokes and common electrodes are led out. Seven light-emitting tubes form an 8-shaped shape, plus the decimal point is 8 segments. These segments are represented by the letters a, b, c, d, e, f, g, dp respectively. By choosing the combination of the LEDs on the digital tube, we can display the characters we need. The seven-digit code that can display a certain character is called the seven-segment code of this character.
Digital tube classification
Common anode digital tube: refers to a digital tube that connects the anodes of all light-emitting diodes together to form a common anode (COM). When the common anode digital tube is used, the common pole COM should be connected to +5V. When the cathode of a field light-emitting diode is at a low level, the corresponding field is lit, and when the cathode of a field is at a high level, the corresponding field is not lit.
Common cathode digital tube: refers to a digital tube that connects the cathodes of all light-emitting diodes together to form a common cathode (COM). When the common cathode digital tube is used, the common pole COM should be connected to the ground wire GND. When the anode of a field light-emitting diode is at a high level, the corresponding field is lit, and when the anode of a field is at a low level, the corresponding field is not lit.
